Saving the next generation

When I dumped a bunch of water on the potted plant sitting by my back door (see last photo) ants immediately started pouring out, many carrying eggs, larvae, and/or pupae. Some were coming over the edge and down to the ground, but many were running up the plant, dead-ending at the tips, turning around, and working their way back. I'm not sure where most of them ended. I ran in for the camera and managed to photograph the stragglers.
David Attenborough would be proud of you!!! Great details
