Dusty & Fake’s OK by me in the winter

Plastic flowers that I had taken off a large wreath that had been hanging on the back porch. It was falling apart, shedding little plastic leaves all over the place. But I didn’t get rid of the flowers; I didn’t do anything with them either though. They’ve been sitting with a green plastic wind spinner thing in an old cream separator on the back porch — all of it getting dustier and dustier.

The other day, in need of something to photograph I noticed what a cheerful splash of red it made. Please look at that and the interesting shadow, and not the abundant dust and dirt. The even more interesting shadows that the screens created trumped this when I next posted. Putting up now to fill in an empty spot.
They certainly do add that splash of colour during the drab winter months!

I really like this one and I’m not sure what you’re talking about in terms of dust.

I like the simplicity here. It has a Andrew Wyeth feel. Fav.

I wouldn't have known the flower was artificial. I like the mesh pattern over everything. I like the bit of refractive effect at the edge of the screen. Cool shot.

Yes, the splash of color, and the casual nature of the image, really work.
