Jackie challenged me to do a still life in the style of the Old Masters. Well...I spent a good part of the week trying to figure out how to do one that was focused on oil of some kind -- for the mundane challenge. In the end, this afternoon I realized I had to come up with something and settled for this. I can't say the oil is the main subject, so it really isn't appropriate for that challenge. But I stubbornly am including oil and featuring it in the title. Don't ask me what this arrangement means. I started out with some symbolic concept, but it was pretty thin to begin with and by the time I was finished I don't think there's much left of it. So I'll spare you.
Mary this is amazingly fantastic. I keep looking at the angles and position of items wondering how they were put there and are still standing. An immediate fav!!
Oh I love your oil decanter too, perhaps it can star on its own for another challenge???!!!
To me, it looks as if a strong wind or vibration shook the house. I like the lighting and tones of this still life. This could also be tagged for the 52 week challenge of "something old". (52wc-2021-w12) if you're participating in that.
