Thistle

Pam @potsbypam challenged me to photograph something that inspires in me a sense of wonder and post it straight out of camera. In truth, almost everything I aim a camera at fills me with a sense of wonder--first at the fact that 365 has shaped my way of seeing so profoundly. This one is easy. The thistle is truly beautiful, albeit horrible to step on with bare feet and a scourge to pastures everywhere. But even rusty, old, grungy stuff fascinates me and makes me reach for the phone camera. It's not that I didn't see beauty or interest in odd things before. I just wasn't so tuned into that so much of the time. So...yeah, the thistle fills me with a sense of wonder. I have a good dose of the Scottish in my ancestry, so that may also explain that.
I really like the close up view of this! You have captured the beautiy and detail very well!

Thistles are beautiful (my Scottish heritage I'm sure), but wicked. I do agree with you about seeing things differently since picking up a camera almost everyday.
