The tags I got for the tag challenge were "cat" and "landscape." Sadly, my friends in Wisconsin don't have a live cat, but they did have this little guy. Their land is awash with wonderful landscape picture possibilities, but this morning when I went outside to try to combine the two it was so cold and windy that I didn't want to try for anything better. I just wanted to get a picture and go back inside. At least I did try to get something for the challenge.
@vignouse@sioux@howesandraj Richard, Sue, Sandra -- Thanks. What I really wanted to do with him was some sort of forced perspective thing (which I've never tried before). After a brief attempt a couple of days before when the weather was beautiful, I realized that I didn't have it figured out and resigned myself to trying a forced perspective shot sometime in the future.
@dannydavies Thanks so much for the feedback, Danny. Much appreciated. I think I may have had it set to focus on the narrow area in the center -- probably in order to ensure a good focus on the cat. I agree with you. it would be better to have the post it's sitting on also in focus. I think the bit of vignette I applied doesn't help in that regard -- just adds to the not-well-focused appearance of the post.
What I meant by forced perspective is by means of manipulating perspective, to make a smaller, but closer object, look larger than a far away object that actually is larger. Examples -- a person appears to be holding the moon in their hand, a small toy appears to menace live people... I've seen some awesome tricks of the eye using forced perspective. In a comment to one of her photos, Laurie @luvmynynix provided this link to a Google image search that shows some fun shots. https://www.google.com/search?q=forced+perspective&hl=en&qscrl=1&rlz=1T4GFRE_enUS317US317&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=sfFNU61Gwa_IBInMgIAM&sqi=2&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ&biw=1120&bih=579
I definitely want to try it sometime, but the little cat figure up in Wisconsin was not cooperating and I didn't have time to experiment.

What do you mean by, forced perspective. :)
