The Neanderthal Men were quite happy a few weeks ago to pose for me for my belated reply to Summerfield's challenge to "do a Northy" (Neanderthal Men standing in for Northy's chess pieces) http://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2017-04-17 -- and they were content with that until they started going through Northy's project and noticed the images she had with op art background. Immediately they decided that doing Northy's chess pieces was boring (their words, not mine) and wanted to do a wilder image. I didn't have time to do another photo shoot with them, so I told them I couldn't do a nice silhouetted image against the background, like Northy's penguin, instead this is the same shot of the Neanderthal Men I posted previously, pimped up with an op art background and then several layers of mirrored frame on the edge. The op art is the result of the little app on my iPod called KaleidaCam. There are a number of different kaleidoscopic patterns you can aim the camera at. I discovered the other day that the stairs to the basement in Anderson Hall on the campus, with their striped metal treads made really trippy KaleidaCam results. The one I laid the Neanderthal Men on top of is one of the more simple patterns. Scroll up and down for the best view.
LATER Looking at this again, I was displeased with the way the shadow feature of the frame(s) was slightly yellowing those outside layers, despite the fact that I chose the pure white for the tint. I went back to ribbet.com and re-did and have moved this one to my alternates album and posted the new and improved version on the same date in the main 365 album https://365project.org/mcsiegle/365/2017-04-26 -- rather that delete this one.
@grammyn@farmreporter Thanks. I fiddled with this one too -- to get rid of the yellowish tint on the border. See the link to the 'new and improved" version above.
