A sad end

So... A few days ago I posted a couple of other macro shots of this subject and purposely didn't specify what it was for fear of people getting grossed out before they had a chance to see (I hoped) a bit of the beauty I saw as I drove down the street with the sun glinting off a big area of bird poop on the front window. (You read that right...bird poop.) I needn't have worried. Posted here in my Alternates album ('cause my main 365 album is doing Rainbow month) not too many people saw them.

It was sparkling gold with silvery edges. (You all knew I was crazy anyway, right?) Against the blue of the sky it was magical, and when I parked in the Walgreens parking lot I spent a bunch of time taking closeup photos -- first with the iPod and then with the macro setting on the camera. I knew it was a textbook EOTB subject! I quote: " if people were watching you taking the shot, they would be wondering what on earth has possessed you to photograph something which seems so ordinarily, plain, bland, boring, ugly, etc." (and I would add -- gross and yucky to that list) I DID worry a tad about someone seeing me, but what the heck!

I suppose you had to be there, as none of the photos quite capture the wonderful sparkling sunlit quality. And it's too late to see it in person. It has rained and no longer graces my windshield.

As I said, I purposely didn't specify the subject, or post this one (cropped) which, when I zoomed in on my shot, revealed quite clearly a complete, undigested little bug. In one end and right out the other.

Here is where you can find the first two shots:

I've now posted a wider view for context.

And that will be the END of this series. I promise.
There is a scene in the movie 'Under A Tuscan Sun' where the main character is splatted with bird poop and it is called a good sign by an old woman. So, I think that maybe there is some magic at play here.

LOL! Thanks for the clarification? Knowing what it is does detract a bit from the impressiveness of it as a subject and yet it is very definitely an EOTB photo. I can honestly say I have never been close enough to this kind of a subject to find anything as you have with this undigested bug! All in all a very interesting series and I think I like you just a little bit more because of it!
