Squirrel in Snow by mcsiegle

Squirrel in Snow

It was snowing at the time -- big fat clumps of snow coming down. This squirrel was in the back yard eating what Frank had put out at the feeders.Posting this and another shot of the squirrel (in my main 365 album). My get pushed partner, Wendy, asked me to take pictures every day (to get back into it). Friday it was the squirrel, who was focused on eating while also keeping his eye on me, standing in the outside doorway from the back porch with the screen door open. His tail looks so wet and bedraggled. It had been raining earlier before changing to snow.
@farmreporter Brrrr...makes me cold just looking at the little damp guy.

Looks wet and cold, the poor little thing.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond No, they don't hibernate. At least not in England. I always thought they did when I was a kid, but they're out in all weathers when I'm walking round the woods. And they collect nuts in autumn for the winter months to eat :)

At least, that's my understanding :)

This is a great shot of the wet fellow.
we have full blown winter every year where it gets really cold and these guys are at our feeders daily so I do not think they hibernate. @30pics4jackiesdiamond They might if there is no food source, but they are out daily when there is lots of food.

@mcsiegle @paul10 @farmreporter @daisymiller @grammyn @aikimomm @randystreat @vesna0210 Thank you for your comments. These definitely are around all winter. I love to watch them. Wet or dry, they look so cute to me. Phoebe, Frank is their primary benefactor. He feeds the birds and squirrels as good or better than us.
