30 Shots - April 27

The first drawer expedition/exploration was a bust, and I promised to put more interesting stuff in the next drawer than the very mundane objects (in this case gardening gloves) it usually contains. I kind of went overboard here. Shells, polished stones, leftover lifesavers that had been hanging around, little plastic bones from Halloween, and chocolate (of course). I have plenty of Dove dark chocolates that I bought on a steep markdown after Christmas -- enough to last for a good while. Then I sprinkled Dino confetti over it all so they'd have to dig for some of the "treasure". The confetti was left over from one of Frank's birthdays a few years ago, that the dinosaurs and Neanderthal men helped me put together, ending in a photo shoot before cake.

THIS drawer expedition was a big hit. All the younger set (Triceratops Twins and Apatosaurus youngsters) were back, joined by the Trachodon, the Allosaurus, and the Rhamphorhynchus. The adult Apatosaurus and the two Neanderthal men supervised from above. I gave them each one of the chocolates -- though later I found out that one of the Neanderthal men (I can't remember which) would have preferred raisins. I'll have to make a note of that. I'll try to also remember that if you're not careful, Dino confetti goes EVERYWHERE.
Some unusual finds in this draw.
