@etienne That is amazing that you know about the flumes in Carlsbad. How did you become so knowledgeably of the Southwest, and particularly New Mexico?
@bigdad Hi Charlie, we have lived several years in Texas, and we have done quite a lot of hiking across the Four Corners States during and after that stay, until quite recently. Regarding this picture, we spent a week hiking through Guadalupe Mountains NP and around the Carlsbad Caverns area in 2008. Beautiful. I still have strong memories of hiking Mc Kittrick Canyon, and of the bats flying out of the Caverns mouth at nightfall. Carlsbad is also the place where I ate my best rib eye steak ever :-)
