I had such a fun Canada day, it was really one of the best I've had in years!
Husband and I spent some time taking in some of the festivities at the legislative grounds, then went for a picnic and paddle boating. Later in the evening we went for coffee and walked around a bit before heading to our firework watching spot on the side of a hill. The fireworks display was excellent and I was happy that I brought my camera along.
Perfect day.
*wasn't sure which fireworks picture to post, so I let my husband pick. I had to crop this one to get rid of the tops of some buildings.
It's very late here now, so heading to sleep, will catch up tomorrow with viewing/commenting. Have a great weekend!
Great chioce of shot by your husband Lauren. Glad you both had a perfect day. The detail is perfect here & the colours so wonderful - awesome shot. PS the fireworks look like feathers in some cases - well done
Gorgeous firework shot! Glad you had a nice day :) It's so interesting how some countries really celebrate their national days, while others barely acknowledge them.
Great shot here... glad you had a good time. There were celebrations in London on Trafalgar Square (which is where the Canadian High Commission is)... nothing quite like this, though.
@lacedxxoo thanks Lacy! @alia_801 thanks! i always wonder how other counties celebrate. I know the US really celebrate too on july 4th, but not sure anywhere else?? @mshepherdson thanks Matthew, it really was a great time! @bobg thanks Bob. never tried a moon shot yet, but i want to. for this i actually searched on here first to see what sort of shutter spead other people used, then tried the same :) @karens68 thanks! @anron now i think the white one on the left looks like a spider, lol
That sounds such a nice day out, we don't celebrate British day, or rather English day - basically we moan all the time so no one would turn up for English day anyway. We're all just saving up to move to Canada!
@chewyteeth laughing at your "moaning all the time" comment lol. do you guys really not celebrate???! well next year you can come to Canada to celebrate with us!
such a great shot this one is!! i was away camping so we never got to see fire works this year. Kind of sad, but we did manage to buy a few of our own to set off down at the lake which was fun too :)
