You may well ask what on earth this is, truth is It's a major fail.
It's the end effect of the tutorial I was following but I thought it would also transform my own image somehow, which is now nowhere to be seen. I guess it maybe would work but I need to figure out what other magic buttons need pressing.
I'm now back from the hotel just off the M1, hopefully I can get out and about with the camera tomorrow
Oh I tried this - result not what I expected at all! Think it must depend on your base image. You've done more than me, I have nothing at all for today:)
@fbailey Haha, neither was this! I must try get out of the thinking I need to post everyday, I just worry I'll never catch up if I do! Hopefully if the warm weather ever comes it will also bring some inspiration:)
Well, I know it's not what you expected, but it looks pretty interesting to me. I think the coloring is probably what throws it off. I used to seeing this effect more brightly colored. But still- because it's different, it makes you look!
I quite like the muted tones here, but do think this sort of twirl effect looks better with a brighter starting image. But when I do it they never bear any resemblance to the original
It's a good effect with the two reverse swirls - and the lighting on each colour. It's a nice abstract with that feeling of depth. I had a look at the link ( she was funny the way she lost track ...) - is GIMP a specific program or an app of some sort? It does look interesting.. :)
Not a good tutorial when she forgets what she is doing. I have trouble following along when they remember all the steps. I really think this turned out quite well.
