Ightham Mote by megpicatilly

Ightham Mote

Beautiful Ightham Mote dates back to 1320. It is an important building as it still has most of its original features from that time. Sadly, during a flash flood last month, many of the ground floor rooms were flooded and are still undergoing a 'drying out' programme.

Love the reflections of the house and clouds in the water. It is indeed an interesting and important building.

@joysabin Thank you - it is such a shame - a few years ago it went through a huge restoration programme costing millions of pounds. I hope the damage was not too bad.

What a beautiful photo of a stunning place. Have you read The Green Darkness by Anya Seton? It was inspired by Ightham Moat.
