During my sophomore year of high school I worked in the office of a church as a receptionist and one of my main duties was to help Judi, who kept track of finances, with filing.
Judi was a hoot! Having contracted Polio as a child she was short in stature but her personality and laugh were HUGE. Everyday I spent in her office was full of giggles. Judi LOVED anything cow print and she loved Jesus.
Thanks to Facebook Judi and I were able to reconnect. Because of Facebook I learned that Judi also loved yarn crafts and often made prayer shawls for the homeless as well as people who had to spend a lot of time in hospitals.
When my great aunt's health had taken a turn I asked Judi to create this red, white and blue prayer shawl for my great aunt. My great aunt passed shortly after and I was given the shawl. It remained on my bed for a time and then was placed in a hope chest.
Judi was laid to rest today and the shawl has returned to my bed.

A touching story and tribute.
