I wasn't quite prepared for the effect that visiting the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima would have on me. The enormity of the loss of lives and destruction was tangible.
Oh, so emotional & it really brings home the enormity of what was done. Almost too much to absorb! We have visited Auschwitz, & felt this there. How could this happen!??
Unfortunately, man will not learn by his actions. The Holocaust is being repeated all over the world to this very day. I hope the same doesn't happen with the bomb although it wouldn't surprise me with the people who have their fingers on the trigger
