Prison Walls _DSC0671

For May half and half.
I have no idea why the second doorway had been bricked up, but the colours and textures appealed to me.
I like it. Even the potholes in the road

Interesting half and half. The prisoner isn't going to get out of the bricked up room is he.

That's a rather intriguing mystery shot Merrelyn, I wonder why. Love the old walls and the brickwork. I saw Fremantle Gaol many years ago, before anyone was taking much notice of it. Good to see how things are going now.

Terrific :)

@golftragic It's become quite a popular tourist destination. They also run night tours and tours through the tunnels under the prison. I've done the night tour but the tunnels are still on my to do list :)

@merrelyn The Old Geelong Gaol has night tours too, no tunnels. There's been one of the usual rows about its future, it's on prime land in the city. I think the building will be preserved all right, but in what form, or with what additions I don't know. Why on earth can't councils just see beyond the next pile of $$$?

@golftragic I'm glad that this has been listed as a World Heritage building :)
