My husband got me this beautiful cobalt blue enameled cast iron dutch oven for Christmas. I wondered what makes this pot special and why they are so expensive (I chose to try a less expensive brand). I used it for the first time today and made beef caldereta (Filipino beef stew). Hubby said it was the best stew he ever had (and he wasn't being sarcastic!) and I thought it was the best stew I've ever made. He said it was worth buying the pot. Now I'm wondering what it would have tasted like if we had bought a high end brand.
