One long swallowtail

They're sure hard to come by this summer! This black swallowtail was another loner. But at least he made it. Read an article saying this past winter the fewest ever monarchs had made the journey to Mexico - so I'm not crazy. They're just not around.
Great angle you've captured him and he looks beautiful against the blue of the flowers.

Beautiful shot. Sorry to hear they are so sparse this year. It makes you wonder about the ecosystem!

This is a really interesting composition with that big semi circle at the right and of course, I love the green. I hope you see more over time- they are a bit scarce here too, but summer is just starting here, really. It is 54 degrees at the moment, and insects have a hard time moving around at this temperature.
