A First for Me

I believe this is a Snowberry Clearwing - at least it looks like the one Carolyn White showed recently. It's surprising how often I find something a week or so later after she posts it. Guess they're traveling west.
Great photo!!!!

Awesome!!! I would say it's a Snowberry Clearwing. The yellow band on the abdomen makes me think so. The Clearwing and the Hummingbird Moth look so much alike! I always have to look in my book. I'm so glad you found one and got this beautiful pic! :0)

Great shot. I keep trying to get a photo of one, but I can't get close enough. They like the tops of the butterfly bushes.

What a fascinating find and capture! Yet again my horizons have been broadened on 365, I've never heard of this type of clearwing before. what an incredibly fluffy body it has!

Beautiful capture! Is that a butterfly bush? I love the flowers on it.

@lynnb Yes, Lynn - it has finally started blooming and is attracting lots of skippers, butterflies, and these moths. The lantana is right next to it and they only seem to like this bush.
