Well, at least I'm happy they're back - took a long time this summer. Seeing a few every few days now - some, like this tiger swallowtail, not in too perfect condition :) But they're still lovely.

I don't know how they manage to keep flying with their wings so damaged. I've got a shot of one I took at a Butterfly World a couple of years ago. Two thirds of one of its lower wings are missing but I remember it was still flying perfectly adequately.
@lynnb From what I've seen on the internet, they also are grown in white, a fushia color, and what they're calling bi-color (2 tone pink/peach). They sure have been popular with the butterflies.
