That's what I did with this little killdeer. I've had a hard time getting a good shot of them - they run pretty quickly when I get within range. This time he ran up the hillside to where it levels out. I waited. Couldn't see him from below so hoped he couldn't see me. Crept (literally) up the hill keeping my head down until I reached the top - popped that camera up and shot! Gotcha! Made my day! Check this enlarged if you can. That eye is neat.
