This turns out to be a Lined Tiger Moth caterpillar after I looked him up. Absolutely covered in dew drops this morning. All I first saw was a line of orange fluff. We were nearly nose to nose down in the creek bed.
He is the best one I've seen! Love the water drops still hanging in his fur...Color, clarity, depth it's all wrapped up in one shot! Wonderfuf shot. Fav
@janiskay He really was the biggest caterpillar that I've seen. Been watching him for several days (this plant was below the little bridge that crosses to the walking trail).
I guess I never considered that a caterpillar could be covered in dewdrops as well. Wonder if he considered that his shower for the day. Great find, Milanie!
The llama was standing close to the fence and not prepared in the least for me to whip out a camera so I caught him off-guard. In the next two pics I snapped, his ears were already back (the look that says I'm bothering him). He then turned and showed me his tail. But when Creed, the smaller llama came up to smell the lens, Cabo couldn't resist coming back over to see if perhaps food treats were being handed out. Their curiosity usually wins over their stubbornness about being anti-social.
Great find.
