Not exactly a smirk - but he does look pleased with himself for escaping 20 feet up that tree - but he just had to peek over to see if I was still there! I don't give up easily.
@franklein This was with my "carry around" camera - A Canon SX50 bridge camera with a super zoom. The camera is pretty light, has all the settings I could ever want, and can do a pretty good job on anything from a little bug to a bird in the top of a tree. Since I do lots of walking with it everyday (6+ miles I'd guess) weight was the top factor, but that zoom has turned out to be amazing.
