I spent 20 minutes before my time to pick up the new computer at the pond - and a girl pointed out this heron in the weeds. I was able to walk quite near and sit on a bench about 20 feet from him. That was the last of the good day :)
A heron walked out of the woods to cross to the otherside when I was taking my foliage shots this week. I shot him through the windshield. Not this clear.
Nicely done. Herons vary so much in their willingness to be approached. Some are very wary. Others, like those in a park in Central London, you can get so close you can almost reach out and touch them
