Tried looking in my bird identification book, but wasn't sure where to even start. That tail threw out a lot of my first ideas. Wish it had turned around - don't think I've noticed it before. It was in the area where I see the indigo buntings.
Great shot, if it's a young one it might not look like the birds in the book, I've had that trouble with quite a few recently! Spend most of my time being baffled :)
Judging from the tail feathers I'd say it was an immature bird but as to which one, I can't really tell. Hubby thinks it COULD be a song sparrow judging by its open beak. But who knows?! Good shot nonetheless!
