At church today the sermon focused on patience and the minister used the heron as an example. They really are a patient bird (other than when I try to approach). If I keep my distance, he can stand there forever not appearing to be watching for a fish until he spears one.
Beautiful creatures....and in flight pretty spectacular. We had one decide to cross the road in front of us when driving on the west coast last week. Thankfully it got there.....
Lovely to see the entire bird. Often one misses the legs because of where they are hiding in the reeds or trees by the water. Yes, patient birds indeed.
Absolutely perfect – like a postcard! And I love the Information about a heron’s patience. Nature teaches us so many lessons. I will always remember that!
