The Meeting Place by miraries

The Meeting Place

Aboriginal Art in the Mallee - The tracks from the octopus like arms lead to concentric circles which represent the meeting place. The boomerang shapes around it are the men sitting on the ground cross-legged with their spears( the straight lines) in front of them. The animals are totems of the various tribes that have come to the meeting place to barter and trade. Set on a curved tin with horizontal lines, this background provide a complementing contrast to the strong colour of the painting.
Brilliant shot; great contrast between the painting and the iron and it all seems to fit in so well. Lovely colours.

I find aboriginal paintings so beautiful, the animals are so well observed and then there's the 'coded' message, the story. Very nice photo!
