African Violet

This sits on my kitchen window sill and brightens my day. It was a Mother's Day gift from my daughter.

@cimes1 carol, i just noticed your note. you probably take too good care of them. they need to dry out [be neglected] between waterings.

@cimes1 @sunnygreenwood I agree with Anne, Carole. I've not had luck with these plants before but for some reason this one is doing okay. I only water it about once a week by letting it sit in a bowl of water for about 20 minutes or so and that seems to be working.

@sunnygreenwood @mittens Thank you ladies. The last one was a gift to my mom nearly 3 yrs. ago. I was so proud of it because if consistently bloomed and then just a few months ago it withered and died. I blamed it on the AC on during the summer--the unit is just below the window sill in her room where I had the plant.
