Hope you didn't have to climb the tree. One similar fell on Ray's head one year!

@quietpurplehaze That's awful about one falling on Ray's head. This was in more of a bush than a tree and it was pretty low in it.

@mittens

The pigeons had built a nest on an unstable branch of the conifer tree. (After it fell down they built it again in the same place.) Ray was only surprised, not really hurt but said it was quite heavy!

An empty wet nest. I wonder if birds will reuse it. I like the raindrops hanging from the branches.

Good metaphorical shot and nicely done with all the textures.

Aww, this made me choke. Guess I am getting perilously close to my nest being empty now. I shall have to be glad I had my chick and keep my chin up 😀

@casablanca I remember when my youngest daughter left for collage. It was very hard for me so I know what you mean. I eventually get adjusted to it, but it took a little time.

Ohhh, neat! Brings to mind so many questions – who built the nest, when was the nest built, did the little nestlings fledge...
Wonderful shot!
