Padres' Shooting Star by molizard

Padres' Shooting Star

Early blooming wildflower native to central & southern California. It seems to die out before spring officially arrives in late March. Since I really like this flower, I'll post at least 1 more. And then I may go back to birds?
There are some Dodecatheon populations at higher elevations that bloom late spring into summer. I was mtn biking at mammoth lakes and saw meadows full of them in July. Beautiful close up.

Gorgeous! It's no wonder you love these flowers - the petals remind me a little of a bird's wings. :-) Very, very pretty photo.
