2015-04-11-b blackthorn

The blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) is in full bloom. It is easily distinguished from the hawthorn as the blackthorn flowers before the leaves sprout, the hawthorn blooms only when the green is already out.
Beautiful capture with nice DOF.

Oh, we must have had blackthorne then not hawthorne as the flowers were all out along a bare stalk! Very pretty composition and choice of focus!
