2015-07-16 – Nova Scotia Off the Beaten Path – 8/25
Le Buttereau, Cape Breton Highland National Park
We retraced the steps of the Acadian pioneers who travelled this path from Le Buttereau, a small settlement of seven families, to Chéticamp. It’s a significant place for its Acadian history and some ruins are visible reminders of those hardy settlers.
At the end of the hike, we enjoyed a spectacular sunset over the Gulf of St. Lawrence. And I loved the crashing waves, adding "something" to the pictures. Especially this one, which was just perfect.
