2015-08-07 sunflower

I got this sunflower (and 2 others) from my assistant, when I returned from holiday on Monday.
They are still beautiful.
As most of you will know, sunflowers stay longer fresh if the stem is dipped into boiling hot water, for about 20-25 second's. The heat make sure that the juice (spurge) of the sunflower coagulates and the cutting closes quickly.
Stunning comp Mona, love the water drops!

I tried to grow them from seed and none of them came up so no chance to have one inside which i would have loved! They have such happy faces!

@maggiemae Oh no, and I have one in the huge pot of the Ginkgo biloba, that grew apparently out of a lost bird seed. This flower is only 10cm in diameter, but still has this happy smiling face.
