The Chinese Lantern is a popular ornamental plant, and nice to look at with the bright orange papery covering over its fruit.

Interesting for me: We all know the delicious Cape Gooseberry Physalis peruviana on top of nice cakes and desserts. But, not all Physalis species bear edible fruit. The unripe berries of this Chinese Lantern plant can be highly poisonous, although the ripe fruit is edible (not very tasty).
Lovely focus and lighting. Interesting natural history lesson too!!
