Back to normal routine. After more than a few weeks, my colleague is back at work and the time, where I had to work also her shifts is finally over. Yippee. I am glad that she is doing well again, that she had also some holidays and is back as new.
So I had an afternoon off and some me-time. I used it to prepare the gifts “für’s wichtälä”. Wichtälä? You will asks what this means. The word “Wichtel” is German for a friendly little person (kobold size, but extremely friendly and helpfull) and wichtälä (acting like a Wichtel) is the Swiss-German verb that derives from it. It’s a custom or tradition, which you could probably compare most closely with something like Secret Santa.
I anonymously surprise at the beginning of the Advent season my co-workers in the office with a little something. This year it is my Pasta-Salt I mix by myself in decorated containers. Salt mixture picture I posted earlier this year: http://365project.org/mona65/365/2015-05-16
Such a sweet gift to give to your co-workers. And a beautiful capture with the beautiful decorated packaging. You are such a creative person in more ways than one. :) PS; I like the bokeh too.
The gifts themselves look so pretty, and the light and dof in your capture are magical, fav for me! Those Wichtels (oder Wichtelen?) sound delightful--I had not heard of them before, but am glad I know about them now! :)
@tristansmum Thank you Stephanie. Maybe you heard about Heinzelmännchen which are the friendly little people helping in the household, a Wichtel (sg/pl) is similar. I could not find a proper translation, as I think kobolds are sometimes mean. And a Wichtel never is.
Ha ha need some of them helping in the household. Reminded me of long long ago we had "spookvriendinne" ghost friends at work. This meant everybody in the office, who would like to take part, wrote their name on a piece of paper. The names were placed in a container. Everybody draw a name. Only you knew who your partner was for the month. You could place a flower or give anything you wish on her table without her knowing from who it came.
