2016-07-09 chriesitag / day of cherries

Our city and region is famous for its cherries (Swiss German: Chriesi). The culture is about 400 years old and dominated by the cultivation of cherries and a variety of customs and a lot of different cherry products. (Cherry kirsch, cherry syrup, cherry cake (only for adults!), and even cherry sausage). Today is the locally acclaimed "Chriesitag" (day of cherries) with a big cherry festival in the old town.
