A wonderful monument! It seems that in the UK there has been a recent massive upsurge of unwanted pets with the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and people going back to work. They were the pets bought to provide something to occupy people during the lockdowns.So sad.

The same is happening here - we had a very strict lockdown, and one of the few reasons to leave home was to walk the dog; many people adopted dogs just to be able to leave home. Now they can lead a (mostly) normal life, and they don't have time for the dog. It makes me furious and sad beyond words.

@fishers Thanks. The same is happening here - we had a very strict lockdown, and one of the few reasons to leave home was to walk the dog; many people adopted dogs just to be able to leave home.
