The first to bloom this year! My orchids usually start to bloom earlier in the year, but March and April were really cold, so they have started later this year.

It consists on putting your orchids in a clear container (I prefer glass for stability, some people use plastic) without any soil. You need to thoroughly clean the roots, and remove all the soil they had before so that it doesn't rot. Once a week, you fill the container with water, and pour it down after two days (I fill on Fridays, empty on Sundays, just because it's easy to remember). This way, they get as much water as they need, but they also have a chance to get their roots dry. Every now and then (about two - three months) you add a drop of orchid food to the water. It really works for me. I have phals and vandas like that,a nd they are all thriving!
