A quirk

of the tree
The camera was level. The terrain is inclined.
It looks like a chair for a giant, great find and shot! Glad to read your narrative, I thought I have to tilt my head ;-)

Fascinating bend. I wonder if it was damaged and then re-grew?

That's just like me, it had a stunted growth for a short period, I'm sure I did the same so I'm little but have a 6ft 3in retired policeman Brother. FAV

we just had a big wind storm last night. Took a walk around the neighborhood and saw too many downed trees.

They always grow as life demands. Harder for humans.

It’s an individualist tree.

@blueberry1222 That's sad. It always makes me sad when I see fallen trees. Today I spotted a broken big branch in the park. I don't know how that happened.
In the park near my house, when bigger trees fall down due to various reasons, the authorities just clean off the branches, and round the ends and leave them for children / youth to climb or sit on them. I think it is quite nice not to remove them. I should shoot a little series of those trunks.

@delboy207 I am lucky enough to live near a big park. Unfortunately I do not walk as much as I should. And I like to pay attention to what's around me: I never jog or walk with headphones or any other distraction. I think it defeats the purpose of a walk in nature.

It's nice to have such a nice park nearby. At least the photo subjects are not far away. You also picked out that curved tree very well.
