I have to agree Moni. I recently purchased an EM10 and I have to say I am super impressed. I love its pocketability and it has an impressive array of features and excellent image quality. I haven’t yet tried the live composite or in camera focus stacking but one feature that blew me away was its in-body image stabilization. It’s better than the IBIS on my full frame Sony A73. I can now understand why you and many other Olympus users on 365 rave about it.
@cdcook48 Mine is a cheapie... Olympus Pen 9. It does not have the in camera focus stacking. I would have liked to try that. Maybe my next one will have it.
But this one does have a loooot of features which I find so cool. As for the image stabilization, I was surprised to see that when it is ON and the camera on a tripod, it really does affect the image. I thought it was a myth. So I try to use it appropriately, but I admit sometimes I forget to check if I am on the appropriate setting :D
I am glad with the choice I made, even if it was not my own choice, but a suggestion from a friend who introduced me to photography. But I am glad.
@monikozi I often forget as well. Honestly, I never understood the reasoning behind it. I rarely notice any difference and I find that a little judicious sharpening in post usually takes care of it.
@cdcook48 Frankly, on a mobile screen or even a laptop, such details are really not noticeable. I only noticed that when I zoomed it really big, on the camera screen.
@monikozi The strange thing is I can’t unsee him. The horn (cleverly folded) is a branch, his eye is a black rock in the water. The ripples in the water are his mane and his nose is on the right hand side of the photo.
@jacqbb Holy smokes, Jacqueline!!! I've seen it now. I checked it in dark mode and on a bright day, so the screen is a bit darkened. But i can see it. I wonder how the horn is tucked like that...
