When I was in the UK in 1997, I visited Liverpool with relatives who lived on the Wirral. While in Liverpool, we found we had stumbled upon 'Beatles Week' where everything and everyone looked and acted like the famous four. It was amazing! So, of course, a trip to Liverpool wasn't complete without going to 'The Beatles House'.
This place has a duplicate of The Cavern Club where The Beatles first started out and the complete history of The Beatles. What a place! I bought a shirt and a few other things. I also put 3 pennies through a very cool machine that squashed them into what you see here. I really should have done more pennies for each member of my family here in Australia; but I didn't. It only cost 20p.
I also visited the real Cavern Club on Matthew Street where there's a life-size statue of John Lennon leaning against a wall across the way from it... which I did get a photo of me standing next to it. It was so much fun!
The other two pennies were given to my Mum (Lois) and Grandma. Since Grandma passed on, I think hers was given to Aunty Helen; I'm not sure.
Writer, poet, artist and prolific reader.... that's me.
I'm a collector of books, vinyls, coin purses and strange handbags... that's me too.
Otherwise, I love...
I like your story to go with it - brings back memories.
