For Our Firemen

Over the last year, the Woodridge Fire Station has been undergoing a complete rebuild. This is a piece of art that's been erected outside it recently that I thought to get a photo of today.

I love it.

The plaque says:

'This artwork references the history of firefighting in Queensland Fire and Rescue Service through three motifs. The semi-circular form expresses the idea of containment of fires, the radiating linked figure represent teamwork and community spirit, whilst the fire axes represent vital tools used in fire fighting. Combined, these elements represent some of the fundamental work performed by the Woodridge Fire and Rescue Station staff.'
Great shot! I like the explanation of the artwork. We have learned to expect their service; we should be so thankful for it! Great reminder!

kettle corn is popped in a huge iron kettle and is both lightly sweet and salty. When freshly popped, it is crispy, crunchy, warm and light.
