I spent my New Year Celebrations at Victoria Point here in Brisbane. At the local shopping centre, there's a place called Lakeside where they close off the streets and have a huge street party!
It was awesome!
food, music, people, balloon-building people, dancers... man, it was on for young and old alike. So much fun and I totally enjoyed getting into the salsa-like dancing with the ladies (I think I surprised them seeing I don't look like a dancer).
Well, the fireworks went off at 9pm for the people with kiddies and we headed off home, only to find my friend's car had been keyed.... damned grots, can't leave anyone's property alone!
Well, after she put in a police report, she was off to bed - as was her daughter - and her husband and I stayed up and watched Star Wars IV: The Last Hope on dvd. :D
Yep, it was a good night. I made the cheese platter for the evening of munchin' until midnight.
