Hi everyone. I'm Michael, an amateur photographer living in Temiskaming in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It's a beautiful part of the world, located right near the border with the province of Quebec. I've been struggling in recent months to stay motivated to just get out there with my camera. Life just seems to fill up with so many other things! A friend introduced me to the 365 project a while ago, but I did not bite until recently.

After a slow start getting to know the community, I committed fully and firmly to the photo-a-day pledge on January 1st, 2019. I'm hoping, as so many others have testified, that the 365 project will make me more aware of my daily environment and the the photographic opportunities that present themselves when you're actively looking. It is a way of engaging more fully with life, and I am looking forward to sharing my daily images with all of you.

My goal is to post only photos actually taken on the calendar day they are posted to, with no back-fills or archive shots as fillers. I'm already discovering how hard it is to actually do it, though. We'll see how far I can get with that. If I occasionally don't get anything, I'll just leave that day blank. In the warmer months, you will see a strong bias towards bird life and other natural history subjects. In the winter months, I'll take whatever I can get, which might mean a lot of winter landscapes and pet photos, but even those are hard to get when I'm at work during the entire period of daylight.
