Isn't this blue plumbago flower lovely? I like the soft, pastel color. The plumbago shrub is native to South Africa. It loves the sun! I guess that's why it grows well here too. I don't have a garden (I live in a small flat) so I make regular trips to different parks to practise my macro shots. 8)
The petals look so soft and the inner detail so clear. Beautiful shot, lovely composition. An unusual looking flower. So nice that you have these parks to spend time in.
Beautiful soft, cloud-like layers .... lovely tender, baby blues. With a touch of sugar crystals inside. WOW! You filled the lens with beauty on this one.
@tonydebont Eep. I never pluck flowers in a park! I photograph them where I see them. I always go in the early morning hours when everything is still calm and quiet, before the wind picks up and the sun starts to cook everything in its light. Usually, by 10am, I'm an exhausted and sweaty mess, and that's when I pack up and go home. Some parks are quite far away and it takes me at least an hour and a half to get there (and get home again) by public transport. (I don't drive.) 8)
@myautofocuslife Thank you Livia. I didn't think YOU would pick them but I marvelled at the clarity of your macros when I know how difficult it is to control the wind, the light and an unsteady hand. Makes me appreciate you images even more.
@tonydebont Appreciate my luck instead! *LOL* I have no explanation for how I'm able to get shots that are sharp when I don't have a tripod. Then again, 90% of my photos are not sharp or presentable. They are blurry blobs. What I'm uploading are that lucky 10% that actually look somewhere near good. I'm not trying to be modest when I say all this. I'm just astonished, I always am. XD
This is gorgeous, I just love plumbago flowers. They grow huge here in the southern part of Australia, we have many South African plants! I took some shots of plumbagos early on in my project, but this is just exquisite!
I love them...they're a hardy plant and so wispy with flowers most of the year. I have one in front of my house. Beautiful soft tones in your shot...very nice!
