I need to say I'm sorry I am unable to visit your albums and comment. My computer died late last night. I had to wait for The Husband to return home from work today to see if he could get it running, at least long enough for me to save some stuff. I have a seriously dying graphic card, I think. The screen and graphics look weird right now. I'm expecting the computer to fail any second. (It did that several times.) Tomorrow we'll have to go and see if we can get a new desktop for me. I've been very comfortable on Windows XP. Don't want Windows 8.
These butterfly stamps from New Zealand are pretty, aren't they? They were produced in 1970. I've discovered old stamp albums while cleaning out some drawers. 8)
They are very nice stamps Livia, and another of your prized possessions that I am envious of! I hope you get your PC sorted soon and have everything backed up properly!
OMG!! I read that too quickly and thought it said your husband had died!! Relief set in after I re-read it. Hope your computer is sorted really soon. Great shot of some very pretty stamps xx
Oh no!!! And only 3 more days to go on your 365 project. I also am partial to a desktop and I love Windows XP. I'm afraid one day I'll have to change though, which I dread. Good luck and hope you'll be back online soon. In the meantime this is a really cool shot of these beautiful stamps. I used to be an avid stamp collector and still have my stamp album from when I was a kid decades ago ;-) I think I've tried every hobby there is.
Those are beautiful stamps and a lovely capture of them. Sorry to hear about your computer problems, they can be so frustrating. I am still using XP and will as long as I can keep this trusty old computer of mine limping along.
Nice composition of some beautiful stamps. Sorry to learn about the computer but you can't go backwards with technology. few of us like change but I am sure you will settle intoWindows 8 just fine. Bon courage!
Like the photo, I think your field is everything from macro to infinity. I understand your frustration with your computer. I'm running windows xp and while it is inevitable, I don't look forward to uploading all the software and hoping I recover all the files. Good Luck
Love the stamps....back in the day when 2 cents bought something! Canada is doing away with the penny! Maybe you can find someone who can make you a new computer with XP in it....it's still around!
Wow - these stamps are a real blast from the past for me, I remember them so clearly - back from when milk came in glass and cost a couple of cents a pint! I love the textural nature of this shot - and lots of memories that came back with it - our smallest coin is now 10c & a standard stamp is 50c!
Beautiful stamps. Good capture. Sorry about your computer. You will have a big learning curve going from XP to Windows 8. I still wish I had XP and I only have 7. :-) But you can do it. It's not bad, just different.
I guess you had to buy two just to get one!! huh!! they get us every time!! Love, Love, Love this! ...my last computer was a xp- i had to have them transfer all of my pics to an external hardrive and whoop it worked !! Give it a Go! :)
Hope your pc holds up long enough for you to get what you need from it! These are possibly the coolest stamps I've ever seen! Very pretty and your composition is great.
Sorry to hear about the computer. Frustrating when that happens. Hopefully its something simple to fix. Great capture. Really like the composition and color.
I already have read you have a new computer . Congrats. I did a few months age the chance from XP to 7 Still not use to it .
Love the prints of the stamps
I used to collect stamps and these look very familiar to me too! my hubbies computer is dying a fast death at the moment also and he also suspects the graphics card!! playing to many games huh :)
A great, big, pretty and colourful "THANK YOU!" to everyone for stopping by! Thank you for your concern and your encouragement. This new desktop we have now is fantastic. I chose to have Windows 7 instead of 8 installed. I can't wait to play games on it. 8)
Great to find things when clearing spaces out isn't it; these are lovely. I am gathering by your above comment that the pc is now all healthy again - phew!
Wow! These are beautiful!! I use to do stamp collecting when I was a lot younger and I always liked overseas stamps. I really like how you shot these :-)
Computers can be nightmares. Hope it gets sorted out soon.
Nice stamps though.
Hope your pc problem is solved very soon.
Hope you'll get your computer problem sorted soon!
