Night Bulb Shot by myhrhelper

Night Bulb Shot

Oh I wanted to take something fun but by the time I could take pictures I didn't have time to go anywhere. I walked down the block and thought I would take shots of the traffic - "boring" I know. I also tried to take "smoke" shots. That is much more difficult than it looks. I had trouble finding a "black background" I found something I thought I could use but it ended up falling on my incense which I used for the smoke. I also had trouble keeping my flashlight shinning on the smoke. Well I tried. So this ended up the better of the two shots for today.
Experimentation is fun, and more of us should go out and do it

Always worthwhile to experiment, even when it doesn't turn out the way we wanted. So very much to learn. The more I know.... the more I know that I don't know.

@mittens It's actually pretty easy to do Marilyn.
You do need a tripod. You can either set your shutter speed at 30 seconds or on bulb. I use a 10 sec timer (don't have a remote). If I use bulb once the timer is ready to start taking the picture I hold the shutter button down until I am ready.

Not boring, I think it's fascinating. I don't live where there is enough traffic for anything like this. i could wait for hours and not have a car go by at night...daytime is a different story, everyone wants to head to a lake.
