We often value antiques but there are times it is clear how out of date and useless they can be. My computer crashed (again) and I had to bring it in for repair. I may possibly purchase a replacement but either way for the moment I am using my old computer. It is sooo slow which makes doing the most simple tasks impossible. I tried downloading some pic's for edit in Picmonkey,Ipiccy and even Facebook and nothing would load. So when this site allowed me to download a photo I was pleasantly surprised.
This is SOOC not by my choice but here it is. I can't even crop.
Nice sooc... choice or not! :)
I LOVE old typewriters and would like to own a some... the only one I have is an old toy one that my sis and I actually used to write letters... though probably only our grandparents ever received one. ( http://365project.org/marilyn/365/2011-03-06)
I HATE old computers when I have to use them... as "antiques" I kind of like them... :)
Nothing wrong with sooc... get back to the basics :) I love this dust collector, My daughter wants one. Old comps are useless, technology has us upgrading to keep up. It sometimes matters if you have a slow connection or a fast one.
Terrific capture and "sooc is the way to be"! It will make you more aware of composition and light. It would be a great challenge for you but you seem to be doing very well with it already! ;~} Interesting subject!
i love looking at this clanker. i've been wanting to get one at the antique market but it's not something i can just put on the shelf with the books. are you having withdrawal symptoms now with this sooc postings? @orangecrush they don't crash, but the return carriage jams sometimes, too.
You all rock!!! You are always there with your positive comments. This isn't actually mine I saw it in someone elses house. I really liked it as soon as I saw it but I prefer working computers to a typewriter.
This has been a good experience to photo in SOOC. Back in the days when these old typewriters were around I would imagine the photographers couldn't do much editing their photos except literal cut & past.
@myhrhelper - i just posted a photo of a newer version of a typewriter: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-again/2012-11-14 i remember many years ago, there was a young girl at the office who asked what "cc" meant. "carbon copy" still didn't ring a bell to her so i went out to the dollar store and bought a pack of 'onion skin' paper and 'carbon' paper. goodness, she looked and felt those papers like it was from another world!
