The Leavings

My cat Harry must have caught a Blue Tailed Skink inside our cabin. But that doesn't mean it's dead. They purposefully detach their tails from their bodies to distract and satisfy predators.I may still find a tail-less Skink in my closet! This is a teeny tiny piece of the detached tail.Harry must have munched on the rest.
Here is a photo of one ( in its entirety) from last year

Wow, so cool! Love the colours of the tail against the floor boards. Great close up.

Eww. Fantastic detailed but… EWww. I prefer the whole animal not a portion.

Pretty color. It does look good on the wood.

I do not know what a skink is, but I am assuming something ugly looking? Haha. His tail is beautiful in colour however and reminds me of a mermaid pattern. Neat shot!

They are very clever lizards.

Such a interesting shot, love that it tells a story, and has us all wondering where the owner of the tail is now.

The tail colors are lovely. Hope you find the rest of it...alive.

Great details. I like skinks. I don't have any skinks at my house, but my parents had skinks at their retirement house. The skinks liked to come out and see me when I visited my parents. I don't think I would like a skink in my closet.
