Dead Orchid

I should really get around to removing the dead flowers from the orchid in my kitchen, but for today they can be a photograph instead.

It's been a funny old day. This morning was lovely. This afternoon less so. One of those days where I want to scream and shout at cancer for affecting the lives of my friends and my family.

Instead all I can do is wash my hair and bury myself under some blankets.

It's a tough disease. A friend from the recent past just passed away from her fourth round with it. A relief in some ways, but sorrowful in many others. Photography has been a great outlet for me to deal with many different kinds of losses. This seems to be an artistic summary of your day- removing the old blossoms will be another day's task. Good shot.
